Happy's rc Reflection

!KNOWLEDGE TOOL BOX!

I think that in this section I averaged somewhere between a meets and exceeds ( but leaning toward the "meets"). I did really well on most of the project. For example, My team won the Civil War Showdown. This represents how we researched and shared information on one of the key contributors to the civil rights movement and honored their contributions by totally dominating the Showdown for them. What a coincidence, that just happens to be one of the Knowledge Boxes.

!PRESENTATION/PROFESSIONALISM!

In this section I think that I averaged a "meets" grade. We never actually presented our song to the class live, but we were all for playing the CD. I practiced the introduction with Aidan, and got feed back from my peers and teacher. We were both on time for the cafe, and I even wore a full blown suit for it (which is pretty big as far as dressing up for me goes).

!POLISHED WRITING!

I honestly did not do very well on this portion of the project. I kinda just threw my page description of the song all together at the last minute and didn't really revise or edit that much. I also completely forgot to cite my sorces on the paper. I made a whole bunch of claims about Hitler that not very many people would believe unless proved to, and I did pretty much the opposite of proving. If I played my song out on the street everyone would think i was a raving lunatic (I pretty much just took peoples word for it on Wikipedia, and some random Google info but I really don't remember, that's definently something I can work on next time).

t h e a r t w o r k

1) i think that my art had alot of symbolizm. for example, in the painting there is a storm going on in the background. this represents the turmoil going on during WWII. everthing from the holocaust to women working new jobs in the US. i painted on plexiglass which you could argue is modern, but i did it in a (or tried to) impressionast style.

2)i felt like i did alot of teamwork in this project. i helped happy write and record his song, i helped set up and clean up for resilience cafe, and me and happy worked like clockwork, everything got done on time. by doing lots of little things to help people i think i got to learn more about the people in our class. since this project had so many smaller projects inside of it, we got to work in multiple groups, like in the civil war showdown. before this project my relationship with the class was like a very bubbly piece of concrete, but afterwards it is more like it has been solidified, itsd more like a solid cinderblock.

3)i didn't actually try as hard as i could on the artwork, i kind of did it to get it over with, i would much rather have done the music. happy wanted to do the music so... but i did help him with the song alot so i did get to do some. i think i could have given more thought on what i wanted to do for the art, i just didnt get very inspired about it though. i would very much like to do another music piece. maybe a project in any media we want to do to show what we learned.

4) I truly have nothing more to say

ART

What I want to happen when people look at my art piece is I want them to see the connection from the freemasons to hitler and you dont have to be good to be resilient. I put two planes fighting to show the conflict between Franklin Roosevelt, who was a master mason and Hitler. The lightning symbolizes that there were many other problems at that time that both sides had to worry about. The ground symbolizes ashes, as in rising from the ashes. The silhoutes are of the two people, Roosevelt and Hitler facing off. Thier pictures in the background will only magnify that.

lOO word decription of spoken word piece

My spoken word piece compares Hitler to the Freemasons. It talks about their accomplishments, and what they were all about. In the piece, I praise both the Freemasons and Hitler, but then I go on to explain how Hitler was wrong in his acts.
The format of the spoken word piece goes a little something like this... Chorus, Verse one, Chorus, Verse two, a "bridge", and the chorus one more time. It's approximately two and one half minutes long. The first version was about twelve lines long, and the updated version is maybe fifty to sixty lines long. Thanks to Aidan for helping me revise it.

2) We both have/had a strong influence on people
3) We both ate food at some point in our lives.

1) We agree on the idea of Liberty and freedom.
2) We're both very strong (me physicaly, and them in terms of belief ad spiritually)
3) Both me and most of the freemasons live in America.

the only way connect to hitler is we both have brown hair and brown eyes, WHAT A COINCEDENCE!
How about the freemasons you say's well, for one, my uncles a freemason, and i live in america that was practically made by freemasons, and some freemasons have brown hair and brown eyes. also i believe that the whole idea of freemanson (fraternal love, world peace) is a good idea ( they sound like hippies though)

Spoken word lyrics

You were both famous, and infamous
weilding more power then We ever could
but while to nazis he was inspiring, with his evil conspiring,
you used your power for good

He set up hate
You've set up freedom
He set up massacres
You've set up a strong kingdom
He set up death
You've set up the good deeds we sing of
Your so great
We follow your footsteps so please lead on

Hitler
Your mom died when you where four
it became your chore
at vienna you went door to door
selling paintings that sucked more
than the other guys

you became a homeless bum
who definitly wasent dumb
you joined a political sceme
that made lots of people scream
it was your dream
to become king of the world

even where you sat
you killed lots of people like they were rats
you shot at the allies with your gat's
and everone without the right hair and eyes
you tended to despise
and even when countries began to rise
you filled the air with tortured cries

He set up hate
You've set up freedom
He set up massacres
You've set up a strong kingdom
He set up death
You've set up the good deeds we sing of
Your so great
We follow your footsteps so please lead on

Ohh Freemasons
please be honored by this piece we've prepared
freemasons
You are the reason our country's the best
You saw America's potential
and became obsessed
with making this country the greatest
like a bird makes her nest
If not for your efforts
We'd still all be possesed
by the british
who never confessed
that they over taxed our tea
But you guys helped saved me
you saved me and my family
from being at the mercy
of the english country across the sea

He set up hate
You've set up freedom
He set up massacres
You've set up a strong kingdom
He set up death
You've set up the good deeds we sing of
Your so great
We follow your footsteps so please lead on
And as we lift your name up high in the air
Ohh Freemasons
please be honored by this piece we've prepared

Stassen

harold stassen was a freemason who said "whoever kindles the flames of intolerance in america is lighting a fire under his own home" although he was a republican senator from minnesota he was a liberal and marched w/ martin luther king jr. he is saying if you are intolerante you are not only hurting other people you are hurting yourself

quote of hitler

"duechtland, duechtland, Uber Allene"

This qoute means (in German) "Germany, Germany, over all". It's part of the nazi's national anthem. as you can tell, Adolf Hitler was a very patriotic man. He always stood up for Germany and always belived that Germany (under his dictatorship) would rule the world.
